I think that everyone has potential in them, everyone is born with a destiny and a purpose. I think everybody has something in them that they want to accomplish in this life time and it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small because as long as we fulfill what we are made to do we have lived. I also think we aren’t given an easy life, that as we go through life we constantly go through things that break us and tear us apart a little. These things that break us we often see as something negative, and they can be really shitty to go through but I honestly believe that every time we are broken we allow a little bit more light to come through.
You see going through things that hurt us may cause temporary pain but I feel that always in the end we walk away wiser, and bolder if we allow it to teach us. We crack when we break, every single thing that happens to us that’s ‘negative’ cracks us a bit,but every time we crack we allow more light to shine through us. We are born to shine. I love the Japanese poetic method called Kintsugi where the Japanese repair broken items with gold. This way the broken item becomes even more valuable. We become more valuable when we are broken because we learn, life teaches us the necessary things and we learn compassion, love, to have a soft and tender hearted side.
We are not less or worse because we are broken, we have scars that show we have fought battles, that we have survived and that we have conquered. “This unique method celebrates each artifact’s unique history by emphasizing its fractures and breaks instead of hiding or disguising them. In fact, Kintsugi often makes the repaired piece even more beautiful than the original, revitalizing it with a new look and giving it a second life.”
You are even more beautiful, even more valuable, you are you.
Ernest Hemingway once wrote, ‘write hard and clear about what hurts’. Be real and raw about what goes on in life, notice what gives you energy and what drains you. We live in a world where people wear masks, everyone makes it seem like they’re living ‘the best life’ and don’t show their dark sides. Privacy is a good thing, not everyone needs to know everything that goes on in your life but have that circle at least that you can share things in. Be real and be raw towards yourself. Deal with the pain and emotion and allow it to teach you something. Everything has a purpose whether good or bad and the more we embrace that the more we are able to shine.
